Measure Door
Here are the steps to measure the size of a garage door:
Step 1: Measure the width
Measure the distance between the left and right edges of the door opening at the widest point. Take the measurement from the inside of the frame.
Step2: Measure the height
Measure the distance from the floor to the top of the opening. Again, take the measurement from the inside of the frame.
Step 3: Measure the headroom
Measure the distance from the top of the opening to the ceiling. This will help determine the type of garage door opener that can be installed.
Step 4: Measure the sideroom
Measure the distance from the edge of the opening to the nearest wall or obstruction on each side. This will help determine the type of track system that can be used.
It’s important to measure accurately to ensure you purchase the correct size garage door. If you’re unsure about how to measure or have any questions, it’s always best to consult with a professional.
Measure Track
To measure the size of your garage door track, follow these steps:
Step 1:
Close your garage door completely.
Step 2:
Measure the length of the track from end to end using a measuring tape.
Step 3:
Measure the width of the track from the center of one track to the center of the opposite track.
Step 4:
Measure the height of the track by measuring the distance from the bottom of the track to the top of the track.
Make sure to take accurate measurements to ensure the correct size of the replacement track. If you are unsure or have any questions, it is best to consult with a professional garage door technician.
